I think people who specialise in providing search engine optimisation services make a killing as it's such a sought-after skill. From the little that I've read, search engine optimisation plays a key role in driving traffic to a site. Traffic - the right kind of traffic - means money for a site in terms of sales and advertising revenue. It's not something I'd consider doing professionally myself, but it is something I'd like to learn a bit more of as I think it definitely doesn't hurt to know, especially as I run a couple of blogs.I think what puts some people off when it comes to learning about SEO is that it appears complicated. But I think there's a method to follow and once you do, it's probably not that hard.

We have family who work in the web site development industry. My brother in-law and my uncle are both Web Designer employees. My Uncle Tom is head of the art department for a web design company. He is always explaining this industry to me and all I can say is, it's a wonder that he keeps his head on straight. Between keeping the companies clients happy and his department I don't know how he spends quality time with his family. He manages it all he says because he loves doing both. I guess he has good Networking that supports him, both at work and at home.He needs that to keep in where he needs to be and his mind what he is doing. Theprogram we use at work isn't nearly as sophisticated as he uses, but it'sdoes a nice job. We can set up different links as we need to for our website at anygiven moment. That's wonderfully useful. One department sets him up with potential clients and the other department makes sure he gets done what the client wants to see. It is all a dance he says. I guess he would know how to do it; I just marvel that it is all so well orchestrated.

Tuesday, a week ago,I got a call from my brother who is a website development coordinator. He told me about an internet cafe that just opened a few blocks from his work. He walked into the place yesterday and talked with the owner for a little while and left very satisfied at what he learned about this new business, thinking this would be a great place after work to meet his co-workers and unwind from their work day.

There isn't a cloud in the sky tonight and it's hot for June here in Texas.Yep, it's aslow night, not much on TV and the internet is the only source of entertainment around. I could drive and go see a movie, and began to look out on the information highway (World Wide Web) for the two theaters that are about 65 miles or an hour away.

There's this girl named Missy, she's just a teenage girl. She has very strict parents which make her very depressed because they don't let her do anything. She then became obsessed with On-line Gaming. Missy enjoyed the web site development of the games. After a few months of the on-line gaming, she met this boy named Rich. Since she couldn't get a boyfriend because of being depressed, she started Dating On-line. Rich was the first guy she decided to start that with.

I used to be deep into web development years ago as I have a degree in computing and worked professionally in that area for a bit. I'm one of those people who went with the wind - in my past life, I'm convinced I was either a bee, a butterfly or a playboy! - 'cos there were so many things I wanted to do. At some point in my life, I've wanted to be a doctor, an archaeologist, a lawyer, an accountant, a professional tomboy!, a traveller, a creativity educator, a performer. But somewhere, in between those, I dabbled in computing for a while after I met a woman at a graduate fair. She worked at Microsoft and it turned out her first degree wasn't even in computing. She'd studied a 2nd conversion degree (a Masters) in computing and taken things from there. That inspired me. My first degree at the time was in Accountancy & Law which I SO did not want to take further. So I went and did a Masters conversion degree in computing.Though I didn't really like the database part of the degree, I fell in love with the web development modules. On hindsight, it would have been great if there was a business and marketing element to the degree as I feel that would have been very useful for us in the real world. You know, topics like how to set up a business online, advertising on-line, various ways of doing an On-line Search (from the simple to the complex), that kind of thing.

Hello all computer experts that know more than I do. I am almost to the age of 60 and have always wondered what web developers do or what they are. My definition of web developers are peoplethat can make web pages for like a business, or to promote something, really just anything in general that would have a picture, or even a design, or just maybe words on it. Then I start to wonder, do I really want to be one.

Booking on-line can be a hazardous process if you don't really know what exactly it is that you are doing. I myself speak from bitter experience, having once accidentally booked a nuclear war between Iceland and Belgium while simply trying to book some train tickets.

Shopping on-line is smart and keeps pace with today’s economic difficulties here in the United States. I refuse to use a bank that doesn’t have the option of on-line banking. With On-Line Shopping there should never be a reason to go off of the budget. Paying the bills also has never been so easy. By accessing financial accounts, any time of the day or night, keeping track of what you have to spend is so convenient. With just a few special key strokes, it is now possible to see our balances, charges, checks, and deposits. I know exactly when a payment or deposit has cleared every day of the week. With On-line Banking we have another time saving convenience. Anyone with Internet Explorer can make it as easy and fast as it can be. On-line Shopping also helps me from making those extra purchases I didn’t have to have; I probably would have made if I had gone to the store. Those things you see at the checkout counter; they dangle in front of us. Those great American products like cokes, candy and magazines just to name a few. On-line shopping is also convenient because of smart web design’s out there today. I can even find web designed websites that are geared for the kind of shopping I’m doing. In this way my Internet explorer helps me get the things I am looking for a how much I am spending. By things like a cart with the list and a balance for what’s in the cart at the top of that site’s web page. It doesn’t matter where I roam on the website that information is always there. I keep a list of the site’s I like to use and my Internet explorer is always handy with a click and I am there again. Almost all of our bills are paid instantly with auto bill pay and getting into the bank website by on-line banking is a simple and smart way to check those payments are made. All bills that can't be setup for auto bill pay are payable through their website on-line. Today's banking and shoppingonline can help make our family life richer. So much extra time spent together.

I love shopping. There was a time when I would spend all day window shopping, never actually buying anything, just going from shop to shop and trying things on. Nowadays I prefer buying on-line. The web design of some Internet sites are very attractive and encourage you to go from page to page to see what is available. Advertising on-line is so prevalent that it is fairly easy to find what you are looking for, and most sites have either a Chat Room or a forum for you to discuss your buying experience.

Today we had something interesting come in the mail from our On-Line investing group. We have been looking at our retirement fund less and less. With the market in such a mess, our connection to the economy has been painful for us to watch. When we surf the web you don't have to be hit over the head to see just how bad it has been. We knew if we moved it out we would lose and lock in all that we had lost the past year. We wanted to avoid most of that if at all possible. I watch the news every day and we get all sorts of email on the subject (economy), hundreds in fact of junk mail as well. Like everyone else in the country, we see the signs of the economy coming back up and easing. Of course that is wonderfully optimistic, our retirement fund isn’t reflecting much of a change from the huge drop we experienced. The On-Line Investing group has a website and the web design is very useful. We have links to helpful tools that are very easy to follow. One can find information on the subject of On-Line Investing, just begin to Surf The Web. No one who tries to surf the web I have ever met hated it. It doesn't take very long to start getting a Connection to the wonderful world all around us. It’s always a pleasure to go into the On-Line Investing website whether or not we like what kind balances we find or not. It's always informative. Never fails to astonish me how fast we can get important things done so quickly. Tearing open the envelope I found a letter from the investment group informing us of changes to our on-line investing website. They have added links to help us begin again. First things first I had to get a connection going from ournetwork and get into investing groups website. I wanted to get the list of the stock funds we have in our listings and all the balances printed out. Then I had to print out the new stock funds that had been added. Next I would get started on the new program that they had implemented into the website’s web design. Hopefully before too long we would have a plan in place to begin the task of rebuilding our future.

It’s not every day you find aninternet provider that will come from 70 miles away to fix a problem and do it in so quickly. That’s exactly what happened twice in as many weeks. I thought at first it was just some software problem with my network. I finally called the Internet Provider we use for technical support. The internet provider informed me they were having problems with the signal from my modem and would try to reset it from there that this had nothing to do with my network or any of myPersonal Computers or a PC.That was a relief of course, but short lived when they couldn’t fix it from there. I was told my case number and that a repairman would be contacting me on the matter. I passed the time by getting into each PC and having all of them run diagnostics. I understood this repair process could take a long time to get resolved. I might as well use the time wisely. I could use the time to clean up the PC. It’s really not hard thing to do. Finding the time to get it done though can be a problem. We have four teenagers in this house. Time is always a factor. Besides, I needed to check each one and with the network offline, this was going to give me that time.Often times what you think is going to be isn't quite the same. Actually the repairman was here two days later. I had time to run all of the diagnostics on the entire network PCsthough so it all worked out. The internet provider wasn't so lucky. The repair didn't hold. Less than a week later, the connection was dead again. A call to technical support and another appointment made with repair took another week. I went over to my parents’ home and paid our bills online. I just love mom and dad's home page. They worked on the web design with a different program than I have and it's so great. While I was online I noticed several of our web designs on the main page were updated for our home page. Mom and I talked about how the net had been running slow and she was having problems with her pages running out of time to load. She thinks that the problem was with the hub andthe internet provider was using the down time to perform maintenance. I guess that's possible. Why doesn't she do the same thing? I told her what I had been doing with all of our PCs on our network; she asked me to do the same with her and dads. I guess we all needed the time to get maintenance done, anyway.

I use the Internet on a daily basis and I appreciate that there has to be Advertising on-line but what I don't appreciate is the amount of spam that is attached to most of the advertising on-line, it doesn't seem to matter what kind of Web Design a site has they can hide spam in it anywhere, you click on one screen which you wish to view and all of a sudden half a dozen spam pop ups appear on your screen it is so annoying, the only way that I find you can stop that is by using sites that you need a user name to view, then again by the time you have found a user name that is not in use and been through the whole signing up process it is just as quick to close the pop up spam screens.

I use the Internet for almost all of my shopping. The Internet is right at my finger tips with my Browser; and if I like a sites web design I will use it often. Those sites that offer email newsletters for advertising their sales are a constant in my Email inbox. While I do enjoy getting those and have signed up for all of them through my browser, there is almost always some junk email attached to them in some way. I find that is the case because I didn't sign up to receive this extra junk, but they seem to find me somehow. I have hit the send and receive button on the email program and literally have had a window stall for all the emails coming in. Hundreds at a time come rolling in through my Internet connection. While almost all of these I just highlight and delete, I will inevitably delete something I needed to see.
