When I think of my past career as a web designer, I only really recall

When I think of my past career as a web designer, I only really recall one main experience that has stuck with me through my life. That one event you will always remember. It was a disaster, but it showed me what I really wanted to do in my career.
I myself had never really been involved in the dating on-line scene, however when a group of influential website designers offered me the opportunity to design a site, specifically for dating on-line, I jumped at the opportunity.
It started off seeming quite simple, I made the banner at the top with extra room for ad space. Making the log in was a bit trickier, but I got it in after 3 attempts. Everything seemed to be flowing steady, and I wasn't stressed at all. Then the internet server went down. Now making the web design itself doesn't require the internet, but the internet and by searching other dating on-line sites, I got an idea of how to design mine. With the server gone, I was now on my own with a lacking memory for detail of the site's I was mimicking.
Before I knew it, the top web designer was checking up on me, concerned I was a 'little behind', and I thought it was going good! The server didn't turn on until I was so far behind, the web designer who had given me the opportunity opted for a professional already in the business. It was disappointing.
However, from that experience I learned that web designing wasn't really my passion. It wasn't what I wanted in life nor did I have a passion for it. I had a passion for selling stuff online, and I started my own company and hired a web designer to do all that complicated stuff I really never understood.
I am now quite successful, and I enjoy what I do. And what I really have to thank for my realization of what I didn't want in life, is that failure. So everyone should take every negative, and turn it into a positive. It worked for me, it can work for you.
